Physical Keyboard Test & Fix Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 3, 2026
Physical Keyboard Test & Fix is an Android utility that detects, tests, and helps diagnose layout problems with a connected physical keyboard. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles.
Information the app uses
The app reads physical-keyboard events only while you use its testing screens. It may display technical properties such as KeyCode, scan code, Unicode output, modifier state, and the selected Android input-device ID. This processing occurs locally on your device.
The app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share the text you type. It does not store ordered free-form typing. Safe session restoration stores only structured test state, such as which predefined keyboard keys were received and the type of layout diagnosis.
Diagnostic summaries
A diagnostic summary is created only when you request it. It excludes arbitrary typed text and replaces the keyboard descriptor with a short cryptographic hash. Copying the summary places it on your device clipboard under your control.
Accounts and advertising
The app does not require an account and does not contain advertising.
Purchases
The app may offer an optional one-time purchase through Google Play. Google processes the transaction under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
Permissions and Android settings
The keyboard-testing core does not request accessibility, overlay, or internet permission. When you choose to fix a keyboard layout, the app may open Android system settings. Those settings are controlled by Android and your device manufacturer.
Sharing and retention
We do not operate a server-side database for keyboard-test data. Removing the app clears its locally stored app state according to Android behavior.
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include and use it only to respond and maintain reasonable support records.
Children’s privacy
The app is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change, this policy and the Google Play Data safety declaration will be updated before the affected functionality is released.
